After more than two weeks of creative effort, this morning I was finally able to come up with a good replacement for the two lines that I wasn’t entirely happy with.

Because those lines are gone now, I’ll put them here. This is what the last four lines used to be:

(so)… Let freedom ring
Of liberty sing
For Semper Supra
Singing we are the U.S. Space Force!

This morning, I came up with these lines to replace those:

(so)… Let freedom rise
To Guardian skies
With Semper Supra
Singing we are the U.S. Space Force!

When I told my wife about this change this morning, she said, “YES! That’s a lot better than the other lines!” and that’s affirmation enough for me!

I have now updated the lyrics above AND the video to reflect the new lyrics. However, only the subtitles in the video have changed. While I do have a new PDF of the piano-voice score that reflects those lyrics, if you look closely at the score in the video above, you can still see the old lyrics.

Also, yesterday I finished the (first draft of) the condensed full-band score (short version), and a bit later today, I’ll see if I can make a video of that and post it here. If you see it above in the Video section, then you’ll know I was able to do that.

There’s still a TON of work to do on this project before I can call it complete.
