Today I finished writing the first draft of the second verse. Here is that initial draft of the second verse, placed here so you can compare it with whatever it eventually becomes:
High-er than air,
We are the Space Force,
We rock-et and dare,
Guar-di-ans all!
We probe new fron-tiers
Cre-a-ting in-spi-rat-ions
Open-ing space
Up un-to all free na-tions,
Al-ways a-bove,
We are the Space Force,
We stand for the good and true!
So stay re-as-sured
Our homes are se-cured
With Sem-per Su-pra
Know-ing we are the U.S. Space Force!
We are the Space Force,

As you can probably see, there’s some work to do yet on those lyrics, but it’s a good start, I think. Except for one place, it scans well, and solidly states the attitude of protective strength, enthusiastic openness, and solidity I believe the Space Force would like to project.
